Majid Hussain

Legal Assistant/Trainee Solicitor

Direct Dial: 01535 687087
Email: [email protected]

My goals are to qualify as a Solicitor and become a director of the company.

Qualifications & Education

I have completed all the necessary qualifications in order to apply to the Solicitors Regulations Authority to be a qualified Solicitor. There is just my training contract to complete which I hope to do within the next 15 months.
  • Attended Giggleswick School
  • Law degree (LLB Hons) – Coventry University
  • Legal Practice Course (LPC) – Huddersfield University

Work

  • I have recently joined the Wills, Probate, Elderly Care and Property department (non contentious).
  • I am thoroughly enjoying learning new skills in drafting legal documentation, having direct contact with clients, taking instructions and learning from two senior Solicitors in the department.
  • Meeting clients and being able to meet and hopefully exceed their expectations is what really drives me.
  • I am looking forward to building up my own case load.

Translation Services

  • I am also able to assist you if you are from the South Asia Continent whether you understand some or no English at all.

Working Background

  • I joined Waddingtons Solicitors in August 2006 as a Legal Assistant to assist the conveyancing department with the post completion work as well as assisting the legal team throughout the conveyancing transaction if necessary.
  • A key part of my role was to ensure that the office ran smoothly which involved liaising with external suppliers and managing the office day to day.
  • Since the merger, my role as an Office Manager continued at Waddington Turner Wall Solicitors. I was heavily involved in the renovation of our new premises located at 6-12 Devonshire Street and feel a great sense of pride in what we all achieved.

Personal Achievements

  • I purchased a neglected property not long ago which I have renovated to a good standard. It required a lot of hard work which I had to fit in after work hours and weekends and I am really proud of how it looks.
  • Approximately 6 years ago I renovated my own property. It needed stripping back to bear walls. The work took approximately 2 years. My wife and I love our home and I am still inspired by home improvement programmes like ‘Homes under the Hammer’.

Interests

  • Recently purchased a Restaurant in Skipton (http://musafirskipton.co.uk/) where I work some    evenings  and  at weekends
  •  Outside of work I enjoy Cricket, football, Golf and Badminton
  • Socialising with friends and eating out with family
  • Travelling
  • DIY particularly restoring neglected properties
  • Catching up on “Homes under the Hammer”
