Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs)
The UK Government provides annual statistics for RTAs. The 2016 figures show that fatalities and accidents due to RTAs have decreased. In the same period the number of pedestrians injured on our roads has increased.

Motorised vehicles have a duty to take extra care and be extra vigilant when they are driving near or around vulnerable road users such as pedestrians. It is particularly important that they be aware of children, the elderly and disabled people as their awareness and reactions are not comparable those of an average adult.
